American Academy of Pediatrics
- This site provides information and resources about screening at the local, state, and national levels and serves as the clearinghouse for newborn screening information. This is an objective resource dedicated to educating parents, health professionals, and the public about the newborn screening system. This site also provides many ways for people to connect and share their viewpoints and questions about newborn screening.
- The AAP/MCHB Building Your Medical Home toolkit supports the primary care practitioner’s development and improvement of a pediatric medical home. This FREE toolkit also helps to prepare a pediatric office to apply for, and potentially meet, the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) medical home recognition program requirements.
- The Congenital Heart Public Health Consortium (CHPHC) is a group of organizations uniting resources and efforts in public health activities. The CHPHC mission is to prevent the occurrence of congenital heart disease (CHD) and to enhance and prolong the lives of those with CHD through surveillance, population-based research, education, health promotion, advocacy, and policy development.
InfantSEE® – A public health program, provides a one-time, comprehensive eye and vision assessments for infants 6 – 12 months at no cost regardless of a family’s income or access to insurance coverage.
- The NCMHI is a cooperative agreement between the Maternal and Child Health Bureau (MCHB) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).The NCMHI provides medical home resources, technical assistance, and support to physicians, families, and other medical and non-medical providers who care for children.
- The Program to Enhance the Health and Development of Infants and Children (PEHDIC) is a 5-year cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the AAP. The goals of the PEHDIC are to link the physician community at the national, state, and local levels to activities that support:
- Health promotion and disease prevention for newborns and infants;
- Child development and health;
- Early hearing detection and intervention;
- Early identification of children with developmental disabilities;
- Prevention of secondary conditions in children with disabilities;
- Health promotion for children with disabilities; and
- Transition to adult life.
