AMCHP has partnered with Realityworks and Go Beyond to offer a new graduate student scholarship. This scholarship is designed to assist one graduate student per year in furthering their education while sponsoring their attendance at the AMCHP Annual Conference to hone their leadership skills and connect them with existing leaders within MCH.
The purpose of the Realityworks & Go Beyond MCH Graduate Student Scholarship is to:
- Provide a leadership development opportunity for an emerging MCH leader
- Open opportunities to network with MCH professionals and families nationally
- Establish a forum to learn about emerging and national MCH issues related to women, children, youth and families, including those with special health care needs
- Support the educational development of the student by providing funds for education-related expenses
- Develop an advocate for Title V and MCH programs.
There are two parts to the Realityworks & Go Beyond MCH Graduate Student Scholarship, totaling $3,500. First, the scholarship will provide up to $2,000 for educational expenses. Second, the scholarship will provide funds, up to $1,500, to attend the AMCHP Annual Conference. The $1,500 will cover travel, hotel and per diem costs. Some costs will be covered ahead of time; others will be paid out of pocket and reimbursed after the conference. The selected recipient will receive instructions related to both parts of the scholarship. Conference registration will be paid separately by Realityworks and Go Beyond and is not included in the $1,500. The student selected in fall 2011 would receive funds to support their current year of study and attendance at the 2012 conference, to be held February 11-14 in Washington, DC.
